Prime Minister Sobotka honoured the victims of the Romani Holocaust in Hodonín near Kunštát

On Sunday, 20 August 2017, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka honoured the memory of victims by laying the wreath in the place of the mass grave at the sites of the former Roma camp in Hodonín near Kunštát. This year, it has been 74 years since the dispatch of the transport of men, women and children from the camp to the Auschwitz – Birkenau extermination camp.

Today we commemorate the memory of those who did not fall as soldiers in the battle but those who died because of the cruel Nazi ideology. Just as we cannot divide the evil into small and large, we cannot even divide a small and large holocaust. The same criminal ideology that we hear in the names of Terezín, Auschwitz, Treblinka, Sobibor and others can be blamed for the victims of the camp in Hodonín near Kunštát or the victim of the camp in Lety,” said Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka.
