Andrej Babiš met with Macedonian President Ďorge Ivanov to discuss support for the integration of Macedonia into the EU and NATO

On Friday, 5 October 2018, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš met with President of the Republic of Macedonia, Ďorge Ivanov. They spoke about the Czech support for Macedonia in its efforts to integrate into the European and transatlantic structures.

Premier Babiš expressed his full support to President Ivanov on the path to inclusion of the country in NATO and the European Union and appreciated the progress and reforms that Macedonia has made in this respect. Apart from that, they also discussed the assistance of the Czech Republic in coping with illegal migration, both in terms of direct police cooperation and of material aid.

Another topic of the meeting was economic cooperation, mainly the opportunities for increasing investments in energy, transport and mechanical engineering, as well as the environment.

President Ďorge Ivanov arrived in the Czech Republic upon invitation of President Miloš Zeman.
