New obligation for foreigners living in the Czech Republic

New obligation for foreigners (including EU citizens) living in the Czech Republic after their return from the Italian Republic.

On 7 March 2020, the Minister of Health issued an emergency measure to prevent the risk of the emergence and spread of COVID-19 influenza disease in the Czech Republic, which applies to both citizens and foreigners.

Foreigners (including EU citizens) who are temporarily or permanently resident in the Czech Republic or persons who work in the Czech Republic and have returned from their stay in Italy since March 7 are ordered to report this to their general practitioner immediately after their return to the Czech Republic, by phone or otherwise without personal contact. If they are not registered with a general practitioner, they will contact any other general practitioner. The same applies to doctors for children and adolescents. Under certain circumstances, the measure does not apply to freight drivers, drivers and crews of transport medical services and pilots of transport aircraft.
