On 10 May 2022, Prime Minister Petr Fiala welcomed Bulgarian President Rumen Radev at the Kramář’s Villa, the Czech PM’s official residence. During an official dinner, they discussed the most topical European issues, the war in Ukraine and the upcoming Czech Presidency.

Bulgaria, together with Poland, is currently facing Russia’s decision to halts gas exports to these countries. They also discussed the enlargement of the European Union.

“For the sake of the whole of Europe, I firmly believe that there will be significant progress in the integration of the Western Balkan countries into the EU. This is a priority of the Czech government and an investment in our security,” said Prime Minister Fiala.
