Premier’s Visit to Brno

Czech Premier Mirek Topolánek will visit the South Moravian city of Brno tomorrow, Friday, March 2, 2007.

The Premier will begin his stay in Brno by meeting Mr. Petr Fiala, the Vice-Chancellor of the Masaryk University, after which he will visit specialized laboratories in the campus. When meeting specialists and researchers, he will deliver a speech devoted to “The Government’s Science and Research Policy, Modernizing Education“. In the afternoon the Premier will meet players of the Czech Republic’s best women’s basketball team SIKA Brno, grant an interview for Radio Krokodýl and - within a sports afternoon programme - will take part in a simulcast with the Czech speed-skater Martina Sáblíková. At the end of his programme the Premier will go sightseeing in the city.

11:00 – 11:15 – Premier´s meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of the Masaryk University
11:15 – 12:00 – visit to the campus
12:00 – 12:40 – discussion with researchers, Spojovací chodba pavilonù (connecting corridor)
12:40 – 13:00 – press briefing, conference room
14:20 – 14:50 ­ ­ – meeting players of the Czech women’s basketball team SIKA BRNO Žabovøesky, Hala Na Rosnièce, Horákova ul.7
15:00 – 15:20 – interview for Radio Krokodýl, Gorkého 45
15:30 – 16:30 – sports afternoon – speed skating venue: Hokejová hala dìtí a mládeže Brno, Sportovní ulice
16.30 – 16.45 – sightseeing in the city
