Exhibition of objects from the private inheritance of the Kramář family

The exhibition prepared by the Office of Czech Government in collaboration with the National Museum under the name “Karel and Nadezhda Kramář in their Home”, marking the 70th anniversary of the death of the first Czechoslovak Prime Minister Karel Kramář, is taking place under the auspices of Mirek Topolánek, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic.

It offers the public a unique opportunity to see the part of the villa built for Karel Kramář in the 1920s which is nowadays used by Czech Premiers for social functions. The guided tour includes explanation about the history of the villa and the lives of its builders.

At the same time, visitors can see personal objects and archive documents from the Kramář family inheritance, of which the most precious item is Nadezhda Kramářová’s necklace with one of the largest inserted diamonds in Central Europe, on view for the public for only the second time in modern history.

The exhibition is held in Kramář Villa from 1st till 7th June, 2007, and open daily between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. As it is expected that it will attract high interest of the public, it is necessary to make a reservation at the e-mail address heldova.milada@vlada.cz or by telephone, no. 224 002 254 from 8 a.m. till 4 p.m.
