Premier To Receive French State Secretary for European Affairs

Tomorrow, on Thursday, September 20, 2007, Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek of the Czech Republic will receive the visiting French State Secretary for European Affairs Jean-Pierre Jouyet.

The main topics to be discussed by the two statesmen include primarily the European Union’s reform treaty and institutional changes, further proceedings of the intergovernmental conference, anticipated course of the ratification of the reform treaty, and the eventual impact of institutional changes on the presidency of the Council of the European Union. During the talks, Czech Prime Minister will introduce to his French visitor the Czech priorities for the country’s presidency of the Council of the European Union, namely competitiveness, freedom of movement of services, people and capital.

The meeting will be held in the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, nábřeží Edvarda Beneše 4, Prague 1, beginning at 5.00 p.m.
