Open Door Days in the Hrzánský Palace

On October 27 and 28, 2007, the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic will be holding Open Door Days in Prague’s Hrzánský Palace.

For the first time in history visitors will have a chance to see the premises of the Palace that serve representative purposes of the Czech Prime Minister.

Part of the visit will be an exhibition called “Symbols of the Republic“, tracing the historical roots of the official Czech state symbols, as defined by the Constitution of the Czech Republic: its large and small emblem, state colour, flag, Presidential banner, state seal, and national anthem. Highlighting the landmark importance of the establishment of Czechoslovakia - on October 28, 1918, the exhibition will display, for the first time, some major documents on foreign and domestic national resistance movement. The Archive of the House of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic has loaned for the exhibition, among other exhibits, an original copy of the 1920 Czechoslovak Constitution.

The second section of the sightseeing tour features an exhibition of photographs by Herbert Slavík that documents the first year of Mirek Topolánek´s government and foreign policy from his appointment to his official visit to New York in October 2007.

The visiting hours on both days are from 10.00 a.m. to 5. 00 p.m., at the address: Hrzánský palác, Loretánská 177/9, Prague 1.
