Premier To Visit Bulgaria

Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek of the Czech Republic will be visiting Bulgaria on November 7 to 9, 2007.

His official visit will take place in the country’s capital Sofia, in Veliko Tarnovo and Stražice.

As part of his working programme, the Czech Premier will hold talks with his Bulgarian counterpart Sergej Stanišev and Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria Georgi Pirinski. The Czech Prime Minister will also have a number of meetings with the officials of the Bulgarian political, economic and business sectors. He will visit production plants and a university.

On Wednesday evening, after his arrival in Sofia, Czech Premier M. Topolánek will meet Czech countrymen in the T. G. Masaryk Czechoslovak Club.

On Thursday, November 8, Mirek Topolánek, accompanied by Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergej Stanišev will pay tribute to the unknown soldier in the Square of St. Alexander Něvsky, meet Chairman of Bulgaria’s National Assembly (Parliament) Georgi Pirinski and address representatives of selected Bulgarian companies. Talks with Bulgarian Premier Sergej Stanišev are scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Mirek Topolánek´s Thursday programme will include a meeting with officials of the Bulgarian right-wing opposition parties, a visit to the Balkan SAST plant, and to the administrative seat of the company ČEZ Bulharka in Sofia.

The official visit will continue on Friday, November 9, when the Czech Prime Minister will first be received by the Mayor of Sofia Bojko Borisov, and then will move on to Stražice and Velike Tarnovo.
