February 24, 2008: An Opportunity for the General Public To Visit Exhibition “People Like Us...“ and Prime Minister’s Office

An exhibition called “People Like Us“, tracing the life stories of people affected by the communist coup in former Czechoslovakia in 1948, will be opened to the public in the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic on Sunday, February 24, 2008. At the same time, visitors will have an opportunity to see the office of the Prime Minister.

Some time ago, the Czech Premier Mirek Topolánek asked journalists in the civic association Post Bellum, which has been dealing with totalitarian regimes on a long-term basis, to select the life stories of several Czech political prisoners in the 1950s from a unique collection of eyewitness reports and memoirs. Their life stories, supplemented with photographs, will be on display in the premises of Prague’s Straka Academy, the seat of the Czech Government.

The exhibition will be opened to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
