April 15, 2008: Premier and Justice Minister To Visit Brno; Press Conference at 4:45 p.m.

On Tuesday, April 15, 2008, Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek and Justice Minister Jiří Pospíšil will visit the Brno Remand Prison housing the Czech Republic’s first detention facility. Part of the working visit to the South Moravian capital will be a lecture delivered at the Masaryk University and a visit to the building site of a new justice centre.

Programme:
2:15 p.m. - photo opportunity in front of the Masaryk University in Brno
2:30 p.m. - lecture on the subject of the Government reform to be given in the auditorium of the Masaryk University in Brno
Venue: Law Faculty of the Masaryk University in Brno, Veveří 70, Brno

4:15 p.m. - visit to the detention facility of the Remand Prison in Brno (journalists will meet at 3:30 p.m.)
4:45 p.m. - press conference (topics: detention facilities, investments into the prison sector)
Venue: Brno Remand Prison, Jihlavská Street 12, Brno
5:30 p.m. - visit to the building site of the new Justice Centre in Brno
Venue: Renneská třída, Brno - Štýřice

Important information on the visit to the prison and press conference:Journalists´ visit to the prison and their attendance at the subsequent press conference is conditional on early registration! Journalists are requested to register in writing to this Internet address: JStadler@msp.cz or by phone at this phone number: 737 247 198 by 6 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2008 at the latest.

Due to security reasons journalists must report their name, identity card number, name of their media, and all the equipment (photo cameras, recording equipment, notebooks) they will be taking along into the prison. Journalists are requested to have their identity cards on them. Journalists will meet for a visit to the prison and subsequent press conference at 3:30 p.m. Journalists arriving later cannot be admitted due to security reasons.
