April 23, 2008: Premier M. Topolánek To Attend Presentation of the Great Egyptian Museum

We take pleasure in inviting you to a multimedia presentation by Dr. Mohammed Ghoneim, the general coordinator of the project Great Egyptian Museum (GEM), and Professor Yasser Mansour, the General Secretary of the Technical Committee of the GEM project. The presentation will also be attended by Czech Premier Mirek Topolánek.

The project of the Great Egyptian Museum has come out of the biggest architectural competition in history. As many as 3,000 teams from 105 countries throughout the world competed in a bid to create the design of a museum housing 140,000 artefacts of the ancient Egyptian civilization.

Taking part in the competition were also 20 Czech and 8 Slovak teams. Award given to the Czech team headed by Martin Roubík and Regina Loukotová figures among the greatest achievements of Czech architecture on the international scene.

The presentation, given in English, will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Zlatý sál (Golden Hall) of the Lichtenštejnský Palace, U Sovových mlýnů 4/506, Prague 1 – Kampa.
