May 6, 2008: Official Visit to Estonia

On Tuesday, May 6, 2008, Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek will be visiting the Republic of Estonia, opening his official programme by meeting Premier Andrus Ansip. He will also be received by President Toomas Hendrik Ilves and have talks with Ene Ergma, the Chairperson of the Estonian Parliament (Riigikong). At 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, Premier Mirek Topolánek will present a speech on the subject “Czech Republic and Estonia - natural allies in the 21st century“ in the Press Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Relations between the Republic of Estonia and the Czech Republic are based on solidarity of smaller European states, being linked by similar developments in their modern history and by similar goals. Cooperation between the two countries has been intensely developing, primarily in the political, economic, security and cultural spheres.
