Organizers of the FIS Nordic Skiing World Championship in Liberec To Present Championship´s Mascot, Signature Tune and Other Novelties; Press Conference at 4:00 p.m. On Wednesday, July 2, 2008, Czech Premier Mirek Topolánek will be attending a press conference on the very first World Nordic Skiing Championships to be held in the Czech Republic.

The press conference will also be attended by Czech Minister of Education, Youth and Physical Training Ond?ej Liška, Mayor of Liberec Ji?í Kittner, President of the Czech Olympic Committee Jan Jirásek, Kate?ina Neumannová, President of the World Championship´s Organizing Committee, and President of the Czech Skiing Federation Lukáš Sobotka. They will talk primarily about the course of preparations for the World Championship, the final version of its programme and the start of ticket sales. The Championship’s official signature tune and mascot will also be introduced at the press conference.

The FIS World Nordic Skiing Championships Liberec 2009 will be held between February 18 and March 1, 2009. The ski-jumping part of the event will take place in the sports area beneath Mount Ješt?d, the cross-country skiing races will be held in the new ski-running centre at Vesec.
