September 18, 2008: Premier To Visit Spain

On Thursday, September 18, 2008, Czech Premier Mirek Topolánek will visit Spain.

His official visit will be held as part of the so-called “tour de capitales“ prior to the start of the Czech presidency of the European Union. The Czech Prime Minister will be received by his Spanish opposite number José Rodríguez Zapatero, by the Senate Chairman Francisco Javier Rojo García, and by King Juan Carlos I. Bilateral talks will be focused primarily on the priorities of the Czech presidency, development of the EU´s institutional arrangements in connection with the Lisbon Treaty and current foreign policy issues. The programme of the visit includes Premier Mirek Topolánek´s lecture followed by a debate with students in the prestigious Instituto de Empresa Business School.
