The exhibition of final examination works of students of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design. Studio of the Entire Sculpture – works in the open space.

The Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in cooperation with the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic organizes an exhibition of final examination works of the Studio of the Entire Sculpture in the garden of the Lichtenstein Palace on the Kampa Island. Thus the garden, which is usually closed, will be open to the public for two weeks.

The Studio of the Entire Sculpture at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design headed by Kurt Gebauer has been dealing with the issue of the open space for a long time. The summer semester topic of the academic year 2009/200 was a sculpture, installation, happening in the open space and new technologies in the contemporary art. A condition for the participation in the exhibition was to find an appropriate space so that students could respond to the particular spot. An intimate space of the Lichtenstein Palace garden addressed several students of the studio who have created their sculptures and installations.

Students have already their experience with presentation in the open space. Their works were on show for example at the embankment of the Vltava River between the Mánes building and the railway bridge; part of student will be presenting their works also in this year.
