The Strategic Paper on EU Affairs Communication in 2012 was approved

On 1st February 2012, the governmental Committee for the European Union approved the Strategic Paper on EU Affairs Communication in the Czech Republic in 2012. This document sets communication priorities and agenda for the current year, which are carried out by the European Affairs Information Department of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, using the Integrated Information System. The sophisticated information system, established earlier by the Czech Government, comprises a network of regional Eurocentres, a dedicated internet portal Euroskop.cz, and a complimentary Eurofon telephone line.

The individual communication priorities contained in the Strategy reflect priorities set by the EU institutions, and they are adjusted to the specific needs of the Czech Republic. The first one focuses on Europe’s competitiveness, including subthemes, such as the enhancement of competitiveness and the internal market, the removal of barriers to exercising citizens’ rights, and economic governance. The second major topic concerns the future of the EU, in particular, the next Multiannual Financial Framework of the Union, the Europe 2020 Strategy, and the benefits of European integration in general.
