Good old days...?

On the occasion of presentation of awards Gypsy Spirit 2010, which had been announced by the Section of Human Rights of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic under the auspices of the Prime Minister Petr Nečas, Chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Human Rights of the European Parliament Heidi Hautala, President Václav Havel and the Ex-minister of Human Right Michael Kocáb, the Information Centre of the Government prepared in Vladislavova Street in Prague the exhibition of the Museum of Romany Culture "Good Old Days...?".

John Amos Comenius was born on 28 March 1592 as the youngest of five children; it is not sure whether he was born in Nivnice or in the Uherský Brod. His father Martin Comenius was a member of the Unity of the Brethren.

Open-Door Day in the Kramář Villa

Battle of White Mountain 8 November 1620

390 years ago, armies of the Czech estates and the emperor Ferdinand II encountered in the Battle of the White Mountain. The defeat of the Czech estates meant the end of the rebellion against the ruler and it entered in the memory of the Czech nation as one of the most tragic moments of the Czech history and as the beginning of the "Dark Age".

Decade of Roma Inclusion - 19th meeting of the International Steering Committee

On 30 September - 1 October, 2010 the 19th meeting of the International Steering Committee of the Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005-2015, the top decision-making and coordination body of the Decade, was held in the framework of the Czech presidency. The Committee reached a joint conclusion in which it expressed its concern about deterioration in the situation of Roma in Europe.
