December 9 – 10, 2007: Meeting of Premiers of the Visegrad Group Countries and Slovenia

On Sunday, December 9 and Monday December 10, 2007, Ostrava and Rožnov pod Radhoštìm will be hosting an informal meeting of the Prime Ministers of the member countries of the Visegrad Group and Slovenia.

It will be attended by Czech Premier Mirek Topolánek, Prime Minister Robert Fico of the Slovak Republic, Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány of Hungary, Polish Premier Donald Tusk, and Prime Minister Janez Janša of the Republic of Slovenia. Key issue under debate will be the future of the Kosovo and the region of the Western Balkans with accent laid on support for their integration efforts, extension of the Schengen space, and the issue of energy security. The Premiers will also review the course of the Czech presidency of the Visegrad Group so far. Slovenian Premier Janez Janša will brief his counterparts on preparations for Slovenia´s presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2008.
