March 19 - 24, 2008: Premier To Visit Yemen, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates

In the evening of Wednesday, March 19, 2008, Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek leaves for a working visit to Yemen, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates. The key purpose of the tour, which will last until March 24, is to promote bilateral economic contacts with the countries to be visited.

When visiting the Republic of Yemen, the Czech Premier will meet his counterpart Ali Mohammed Mujawara. The two statesmen will jointly open a meeting of the officials of both countries´ chambers of commerce. Another key item on the agenda will be reception by the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh in the Presidential Palace.

On Thursday, March 20, the Czech Government delegation will leave for Vietnam where it will stay until March 22. In Hanoi, the Czech Premier will lay a wreath at the Monument to All Killed in Action. This will be followed by talks with Premier Nguyen Tan Dung of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and with Tranc Bac Hae, Director-General of the Vietnamese Bank for Investments and Development. Mirek Topolánek will be also received by the country’s President Nguyen Minh Triet. While staying in Ho Chi Minh City, the Czech Premier will meet local Czech language and literary scholars and Czech countrymen.

Between March 23 and 24, the Czech Government delegation, headed by Mirek Topolánek, will be staying in the United Arab Emirates. A highlight of this visit will be the talks the Czech Prime Minister will hold with the Premier of the United Arab Emirates and the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Staying in Dubai, Premier Topolánek will open a seminar on the possibilities of promoting business in both countries.
