September 28, 2008: Ceremony Marking The Day of Czech Statehood

Some time ago, Premier Mirek Topolánek initiated the production of a new recording of the national anthem of the Czech Republic “Where Is My Home?“. This recording will be the centrepiece of an evening ceremony to be held in the Pantheon of the National Museum in Prague at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2008. 


The recording was made in conjunction with the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, Deputy Premier for European Affairs Alexandr Vondra, National Theatre, National Museum and Czech Radio. In addition to the premiere of the recording and a speech by Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek, the ceremony will also feature performance by the Zemlinský Quartet and screening of a sequence from the film “Fildlovačka“. There will be a live broadcast of the evening on the second channel of Czech Television and on Czech Radio 3 station Vltava.
