Government Commissioner for Roma Minority Affairs

On Wednesday, 21 December 2022, the Government of Petr Fiala decided to create the office of Government Commissioner for Roma Minority Affairs and approved its statute. On the same day, it appointed Lucie Fuková to the post.

The creation of the Commissioner for Roma Community Affairs represents a fulfilment of the Government Resolution of 10 May 2021, which approved the Strategy for Roma Equality, Inclusion and Participation for the period 2021-2030. One of the tasks of the Strategy, which was given to the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, was precisely the establishment of the office of the Government Commissioner for Roma Affairs, including the professional background for its activities and support. The reason for the creation of this post is that, given the scope of the agenda related to the integration of the Roma minority and its fragmentation among various state administration bodies, it is necessary to allocate a separate function for this agenda.
