Today, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš took part in the GLOBSEC security conference in Bratislava. He gave a speech there, along with Slovakian Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini and Vice President of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič.

This year of the conference is dedicated to transatlantic relations, the situation in the Middle East or propaganda. Premier Andrej Babiš spoke at the discussion panel called "One size does not fit all". The theme of the discussion was a deeper EU integration and the term "multi-speed Europe".

"The concept of two-speed Europe divides us into two categories. That is dangerous especially at a time when the perception of various categories of Member States and therefore various categories of citizens and customers is still a reality. If we speak about a common future, we must form it together. We all form a part of the best the EU represents - a single market. Let us not forget that many competences are still in the hands of Member States, which again proves that each Member State should have its say in the discussion on the future," said Premier Andrej Babiš in his speech.

This evening, the conference will also hear Foreign Minister Martin Stropnický at the panel on the EU future as seen by the Visegrad Group countries.

Globsec takes places in Bratislava on 17-19 May 2018. It is one of the most important security conferences in Central Europe, attended by political and public personalities.
